Hit and run,bunt and run

Question
What exactly is the differance between a regular bunt and a bunt and run, do you not run for both?

The same goes for what is the differance between a hit and a hit and run?

Answer
Thanks for the question.

A hit is when the offensive player gets a hit.  A hit and run is when at the ball is released from the pitcher, the runner(s) on a base takes off for their next base and the batter hits the ball.

A bunt is when the offensive player hits a bunt.  A bunt and run is when at the ball is released from the pitcher, the runner(s) on a base takes off for their next base and the batter bunts the ball.

The "hit" or "bunt" part is what the batter is doing.  The "Run" part is what the baserunners are doing.  They are common fast pitch coaching strategies.  Usually they are used to prevent double plays by getting the runner there earlier or to get extra bases.

I hope this helps answer your question, if not please reply.
