Pitch in the dirt hit by batter, dead ball?

Question
I think I know the answer, but I'm unsure. If a pitch(girls fastpitch 10U)bounces in the dirt and hits the batter, is it a HBP? I am pretty sure it is, we follow NSA rules, and I think it addresses this in the rule book. The next part is what if the pitch bounces and the batter hits it in fair territory. I would assume this would also be in play based on the ruling for the HBP on a bounce, but can't seem to verify this through the 2006 NSA rule book. Thank you for your help, I'm our new UIC this year and I want to be confident, Don Frye ,  Dyer, In

Answer
A pitched ball bouncing on the ground is a live ball and is going to remain live and in play all the way until it:

-- hits the batter and is ruled a dead ball (HBP)
-- hit by the batter at which it will be ruled fair or foul
-- hits your batter but is called a "ball" because no effort was made to avoid it.
-- is called a "ball" and remains alive.
