Question
QUESTION: Is it ok for a team to put 6 players on one side of the field when a female is batting or male?  For example, I am a lefty and I constantly get shifted with 6 people on one side of the field which I think is an unfair advantage.

The 6 poeple would include, 1st, 2nd, right field, right center, short field in between the right fielder and right center in front and the short stop behind 2nd base towards the right side of the field.

I am under the impression that the short stop can not be behind 2nd base when you have a short fielder.  Please let me know, thanks.

ANSWER: Hi Ruth,

As long as the infielders stay were infielders usually play and outfielders were outfielders usually play it is ok to shift.

QUESTION: But the short stop moved behind second base instead of their normal position.  So your telling me its ok to have 6 people on one side of the field?

Answer
Hi Ruth,

it depends on where F6 position themselve.  They can't play in the outfield but can play behind 2nd base as that is an area infielders can or do normally play.   So yes as long as they pay attention to where they position themselves.
