Question
if the batter hits a infield popfly the runners cannot advance right because its a dead ball if they leave the cant be called out can they its a dead ball right? i want 2 know what the rule is on the infield popfly rule with asa.

Answer
Hi Robby,

an IF is NOT a dead ball.

It is the same as any fly ball only the batter is out.  Runners can advance at their own risk.  If the ball is caught they must tag to advance or risk being called out on appeal for leaving early, if not caught no tag is necessary.
