pitching nets

Question
 I heard years ago that the southern states had pitching nets in front of their pitchers? I have been an outfielder since the last 5 years,then started to pitch slowpitch.
I know a couple of good friends that also pitch.I was one of the lucky ones.
My friend suffered a broken nose and cheek bone.
My question is when do you think that all asa softball leagues require a net in front of the pitcher?

Hi Eric,

As you know ASA takes some criticism from some players (who think any bat made should be legal) for our banning of some bats that are too hot.  Too bad, for 99% of players this is recreation and ASA leads in promoting safety.

I don't believe nets are on the agenda for ASA championship play.

I DO believe every pitcher should wear a face guard (a helmet would be nice also)and a heart protector.  I think it should be a personal choice, but should be encouraged by the orgs.
