Question
I was informed that coach's could not wear flip-flops when coaching a base.  Is this a rule and if so what rule does it fall under?

Answer
Hello Keri

I don抰 have a current rule book so I don抰 know if it抯 a specify ASA rule. Perhaps you can ask one the umpire experts on this board.

Here is my thought...Under uniform rules is required that a coach抯 attire be neat and professional. Under equipment rules [safety] game participants are required to wear shoes on the field (no metal spikes, open toe sandals, or flip-flops). I trust base coaches and umpires along with the players are considered participants.
