Daughter didnt make club team or school team... how can she keep playing?

Question
My daugher is a high school freshman. She played volleyball in middle school. She was not great, but also not terrible... somewhere in the middle. she tryed out for club, but it's really competitive in our area and she didn't make the team. She tryed out for the high school team but didn't make it either. I don't want her to give up since she loves volleyball so much but I'm worried at this point she doesn't have much chance to make the club team this spring, which she is hoping to be able to do. I can't afford a bunch of private lessons and well it's kind of hard to practice volleyball all by yourself. Is there any way she can keep playing volleyball and have a chance at making a club team in the spring? What can i do to help her achieve that goal?

Answer
Good morning, and welcome to allexperts.com.

Your child's situation is normal/typical.  She wants to be a great singer, but is never allowed to do a solo. She wants to be a great pianist, but just can't compete with the better girls her age.  I wanted with my heart & soul to be a basketball player.  But I was too little & immature.  When I was 18, I felt like my body and my game was where it should have been when I was 14, when I needed to make the JV team.  :(   When I was 20, I felt like I could make varsity.  But too late.  Oh, well.
