college athlete/ student/ mother

Question
"Hello, my name is kelley, and i currently play at clermont college ( a junior
college in ohio). This year will be my sophomore year,  and after this season i
will be needing to transfer to a four year college. As MVP of the conference in
06 many colleges have came in contact with me about transferring, but the minute
they hear that i have a 20 month old son contact quickly stops. Im starting to
get discouraged, do you have any suggestions about what i should do?"

Answer
Kelley,

I'm sorry but I've only heard of this once before and the girl/mother ended up with a scholarship at Stony Brook University in NY.  Send out skills/game tapes and let the schools know about your son.  You can even let them know how you plan on playing at an elite level AND take care of a toddler.  If you have a good plan you may get some calls and the calls you get you will know want both you and your child.  The support staff at Clermont may also be of some help.  They may know of colleges that have baby sitting services.

Good luck....hope this was a little help.
