Approach Exercises/Drills

Question
I have had a goofy-footed approach since i started playing ball some 15 years ago.  I know that i could be a stronger hitter if i could somehow get my footwork correct.  Currently I am at the setting position due to a shoulder/scapular problem and thought i could perhaps work on my hitting footwork while i'm rehabbing the shoulder.  Any drills or suggestions.??  Everyone says just go with what you got but if i can do better doing it the right way, that's what i want to do.

Answer
Charles,

The only thing I can suggest is that you do a million approaches (with out a ball due to your shoulder) the right way.  Then when your shoulder gets a little better do approaches with a tennis ball, swing and release the tennis ball as if you were attacking.  This will let you consentrate on your approach, and not the ball, as well as your arm swing, your vertical and your goofy footed approach.  Finally have someone set you and see what happens.

This is all about reps.

Good Luck,
Steve
