This is a pretty loaded question. The fundimentals of volleyball are quite simple. 3 contacts on each side of the court, 3 people in the front row and three in the back row

The basics of the game, are bump, set spike.
I would suggest that you get a book for training young children. It will offer great practice drills, etc. that will make it easier for a child to understand.
