Question
I recently purchased a fishing pole (spin caster type) with the name "Kingfisher" embossed where the reel will fit.  the rod itself is one piece and appears to be made of bamboo.  Can you verify that kingfisher made these poles and about when??? and what would it be worth today?

Thank You.

Answer
Chas
Kingfisher rods were made by Horrocks-Ibbotson or Montague . They are called trade rods and they were very poor quality to begin with , but  priced right.
Bamboo rods were made form 1860 to the 1950s.  Your rod is probably made in the 1950s.
The other bad news is that it is not a fly rod.
Be lucky if you sold it as a wall hanger for $20.
I wish you well
