I have an L & C Regent bamboo fly rod which is 8ft.5 inches
long with a spare tip section. An aluminum case and a cloth
carrying bag is included. A patent number 1624C52 is embossed
on metal ring reel holder. Any information would be
appreciated.

Price Book:Antique %26 Collectible Fishing Rods: Identification %26 Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.
Homel says your rod was probably made by James Heddon and son, for L%26C which was a mail order outfit.
Homel gives the Lyon and Colson , 8 ft Regent fly rod by Heddon with an extra tip, 2 sections the value of $70, 160 and $325 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.
An 8 foot rod is worth more than an 8 1/2, as is true for 2 piece over 3 piece rods being more valuable.
