old cane rod

Question

old cane rod
Hi, when my grandfather died several years ago, I found an old cane rod in his shed. Not paying much attention to it , I put it up in my shed until recently. I decided to get it out and research it possible age. It's a cane rod with the butt end of it wrap with a large twine. There is a reel holder that appears to be brass wrapped on the rod with the twine. There are several eyes, also bras or copper looking cinched on with a smaller twine, and the natural joints of the cane are wrapped, I assume for strenghthening purposes. On the end is a rod tip that is made to slide onto the end of the cane. Can you help me, I am sending some pictures.  Thank you for your help with this.

Answer
Frank,
I don't have enough information to help you id the rod.
I am unclear what you mean by twine, I think you are seeing thread.

I would really like to help you so let's try again:
If you are asking for the id or value  of an old rod please give a complete description , send pictures especially labels or logos to me, [email protected] and a complete description including any of following that you can:
Is it? fly or casting rod ? Reel seat is below or above the cork handle ?
Check metal for id and patents ? What is it made of; bamboo ( flat sided) fiberglass or graphite ( round)? Weight in oz? What is the diameter  (not circumference) of the rod above the handle? Where was it purchased ? What type of metal nickel-silver, tin, or chrome platted brass? A complete description of any logos or labels. Length of rod per section and number of sections. Total rod length.

Luck,
Mac
