QuestionI have a Ted Williams bamboo rod,model 65-2, 6 1/2' weight 2-3/4 oz. it also says HDH line. can you tell me about how old it is and if it's worth any thing other than having fun with my son ? I also have a Wright & Mcgill,Green Hornet,GHS-7'. Thank you !

Sears & Roebuck sold the Ted Williams labelled rods in the 1940s and 1950s...they had the rights to use his name on about every type of sporting gear and they did. Bamboo rods were made for Sears by Horrocks-Ibbotson, Montague and two high end models were made by Heddon. Yours is either an H-I or Montague rod. Unfortunately, I don't have a model 65 listed in my reference books that is associated with Sears (J. C. Higgins) made by either of these companies.
As a rule, the shorter fly rods (especially bamboo fly rods) are more valuable than the longer models. Assuming this is a rod made by H-I or Montague for Sears, and because it is likely a fairly rare model, I would estimate its value to be in the $300-$500 range depending on condition. It would probably be worth your while to locate an appraiser in your area with the necessary expertise in vintage fishing gear and get the rod inspected and appraised. I probably wouldn't let your son use it until he is old enough to take good care of it.

The Wright-McGill Green Hornet I assume is a fiberglass rod. Value on it is probably in the $10-$25 range depending on condition.
