Question
i have my fathers FS70 7'  5oz feralite 2 pc rod
also on the feralite decal is...G96473
is this a serial # that indicates when this rod was manufactured?
i would appreciate any info you can provide re: age, original selling price and current value. i believe this rod to be in very good condition and is still in use with me and my son. thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Eric,

There were two distinct generations of Fenwick Feralite fly rods and I assume the same holds true for the spinning rods. The first generation was made from 1063-1971 and the second generation was made from 1972-1988.  I have more information available to me on fly rods than spinning rods but I suspect any changes in rod design would have been carried throughout the Feralite lineup.

In Very Good condition your rod is probably valued in the $50-$75 range.  It shouold be a good fishing rod.

Thanks,  Joe
