Cane Poles

My dad is old school and wants to buy 16' to 18' cane poles. He is on his last 3 and they are hard to find in Wisconsin. Any advise would be very appreciated. His son Mike

Hi Mike,

I don't know if I'm going to be much help.  Gone are the days when you'd see them standing outside ma & pa tackle shops everywhere.  

I have seen some multi-piece bamboo rods in the bigger tackle chains but I don't know if they are that long.  I think most were 10-12'.

I think you are going to have a search on your hands.  Rummage and estate sales, e-bay, craigs list, things like that.  I'd ask some of the smaller independent bait shop owners if they can still get them.  They may have access to them but just don't stock them anymore.
