Modernizing a Bronson Tru Temper Rod: Guide Modifications & Restoration

I have an old but mint Bronson Tru Temper unispin travel combo. I would like to modernize the rod from the first ferrule up if this is possiable.

Sorry  I do not understand what you nmean by "modernize the rod ".
If you mean it is a spin rod that has ceramic or stone inserts in the guides,they are valuable among a very small circle of rod restorers. I may have want you want but just guessing. If you pay for shipping and components,  - I'd do the job for the guides alone if they  have usually red inserts.
If it is a spin/ fly switch rod-it is not worth the time putting on fly snake guides.
These switch rods tried to be 2 rods but ended up being neither.
If it is round, fiberglass or graphite, it is not wise to pull off the epoxy that covers the thread without experience.
