tarpon, snook, grouper

Question
Hello Sr. I live in Puerto Rico, have a Whailer 13ft. give me some fishing tips to catch tarpon & groupers.(lures) What deep I found grouper near coast. thanks.

Answer
Aloha Luis,
Tarpon fishing is sometimes hard, because they spook real easy. Best time to go agter them is usually early. Try & find a school of them near the surface. I use a heavy duty casting outfit with as long a leader as I can topped with the largest bobber I can find. Use a live pinfish for bait and cast about 10 to 20 feet ahead of a tarpon as he rolls. Let it sit, maybe twicth it a bit. Use dead mullet or dead crab when fishing for them on the bottom. Snook love top water plugs, but cast a ways ahead of them also as they are even easier to spook. Grouper are the same almost everywhere, only cut bait or cut squid will get them. Good Luck
