Gar Fishing in Florida's Beresford Lake & St. John's River

I'm moving to Florida, on Beresford Lake which empties into the St. John's River near DeLand.  What, if any, are the Gar fishing opportunities there?

You'll find the area loaded with Florida gar.  They are beautifully spotted, hard-fighting usually 4-8 pounders.
