I heard that YOU are the expert on all things vintage! found a very old fishing rod in my uncle's garage rafters. The only markings are - SPRINGRIP - SAVAGE SEATTLE PAT. PEND.

Thats very kind of you to say but actually my emphasis is 20th century American bamboo fly rods.
Your rod appears to be a boat rod or a 2 handed spey rod.
Next time you ask someone give the length of sections and total length.
The most important part for me is composition and maker/model.
There is a savage rod company http://high-performance-rods.com/ you might call them. They seem to be in Texas.
I don't know what your rod is made of , flat sided (bamboo) or round. Round could be wood or modern fiberglass or graphite. The bottom part has a wrapping on it looks like rattan, so it's round , but the tip section ?
Beyond that I can't tell you much without a lot more specifics and detailed pictures.
Wall hangers can go from $50 to 100 if you find the right restaurant - try near the ocean
