fishing for redfish and sea trout

Question
i live in nebaska but will be fishing in louisiana for redfish and sea trout i need to know the best size rod&reel combo line size and 1or2 lure in november
to use

Answer
I was born and Grew up in Grand Island but am now live here in Florida.  Redfish are much like bass except they have smaller mouths and their mouths are located on the bottom like a Drum (They are in the drum family) One of the best lures to use when you can see them is a "GULP" Shrimp fish them as if you were fishing a Texas rigged worm sometimes with a SMALL weight sometimes with no weight at all. when I say small I mean like a very small split shot. They will also hit Gold Spoons with a skirt or a small red spinner on the back you can find many of them in most bait shops. Top water will work as well so if your trying to find lures prior to going down it may be had to match what the bait shops will have in the local area. As for Rod and Reel I use a medium action 7.5 foot rod with a medium sized spinning reel. However you can use a openfaced bait caster but you will want to make sure that you have a good drag system and you rinse your rod and reel thoroughly after use in the saltwater. My bait caster lasted about 2 months and the bearings were shot. SO a good corrosive resistant reel is a must if your buying a new one. Here is an example of a spinning reel. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1794642

Most that say they are "saltwater" have more corrosive resistant parts. Good luck and look for the tails early in the morning and you should do great.
