Hi Barry,

In doubles match play, the three higher handicap golfers play off the low handicap which is 4. Therefore, the 11 handicapper gets seven strokes which are given on the seven most difficult holes, the 9 handicapper gets five strokes and the 6 handicapped gets two strokes. There are many different configurations such as whether or not to give a stroke on a highly-regarded par-three, etc. A recent article http://overthetopgolf.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-play-nassau-different-kind-of.... may illuminate things further for you.
