Golf ranger volunteer

QUESTION: Hi

I am retired and moving to the Orlando/Kissimmee Florida area next winter and will have a lot of free time available.

Is there such a thing in that area as volunteering on a golf course to do whatever, starter/ranger/bag help/marshal?

I would like to do this in exchange for some golfing privileges
I have extensive experience in the above plus play to a mid single digit hcp

ANSWER: John:  I do know that's been done in the past although I'm not sure how much goes on now.  My suggestion would be to contact the head professionals of courses near where you intend to see what their needs will be.  If you'd like to send me a short list of places, I'll make some calls to get names if you like although a letter to "the head professional" will suffice.
