40-50 yards in swing problem

Question
I seem to have a problem sometimes that my right arm (I am right hander) doesn't want to swing through the short chips and short shots which I feel sometimes makes me shank the ball.  I must really concentrate to make myself follow through on these short shots.  Are there any practice tips for this.

Answer
Hi George,

A drill I like to use is to place a tee (sticking up out of the ground) about 2 inches in front of the ball. I then focus on trying to take the tee out after I hit the ball. This encourages accelerating through the ball and hitting down on the ball. I think you'll find it helps you avoid your shanking. You can do this on all short shots.

Hope this helps.
