Doubles match play

Question
When playing in doubles match play, if my partner is conceded a putt for a 5, and taps it in the hole, and I still have a putt for a 4, do we lose the hole because she mistakenly tapped it in after it was conceded???  ( I have not putted yet.)

Answer
Hey Joanne,

Thanks for the question.

I'm not 100 percent certain, but I believe that you would not be required to take the 5. They are conceding that putt to her, so in making it doesn't affect anything. Most likely, she would have tapped in anyway before you took your putt for the 4, right? No big deal.

REVISION TO EARLIER ANSWER>>>>>>>>>

Rule 2-4 states that a concession cannot be withdrawn or revoked for any reason.  If player 1 conceeds a putt to player 2, player 2 is deemed to have holed out with what would have been his or her next stroke. From the time the stroke is conceeded, nothing else matters. Even if player 2 attempts and misses the conceded putt, the concession still stands.

Thanks,

John
