Club speed

Question
Hi - How can I generate more club speed for my irons?  I'm not hitting the correct club but rather the club I am comfortable with. 130yds I hit an 8 iron when it should be 9, PW, or less.  Any suggestions?

Answer
thank you for your question. increasing your club speed does not neccessary mean you must swing harder.  in essence it is true.  but in order to increase the speed, you must make this a SLOW process as you do not want to suddenly ruin your swing...  so here is how to do it.  grab the club upside down.  just swing with it and make sure you hear the "whoosh"  after the club passes your left leg.  try to ONLY hear the sound at that position.  this forces you to use your wrist.  and the more wrist you use, the more club speed there is at the moment of impact.  this provides long distance but on contrary, less accuracy.  phil mickleson and sergio garcia are the BEST with their wrist cock.  they have a HUGE wrist cock and if you see the picture, you would be amazed that their wrist is way ahead of the club.  so in essence, start using that wrist.  try to keep the wrist in front of the club as long as possible and release right before the impact.
i hope i was able to help.  if you are in any doubt, feel free to ask away.  good luck
