finding golf sponsers

Question
What is the best way to find sponsers to assist my golf dream of playing professionally. I currently have a -4 handicap. I am playing mini-tours in florida but they are exspensive. (not much payoff after expenses)

Unfortunately finding sponsors is one of the biggest challenges for the aspiring tour player, especially in these economically difficult times. The most common plan that players use is the most obvious, start with people you know who are familiar with you, your ability and your accomplishments; then network from there. These can people can provide financial assistance but can help introduce you to potential sponsors. It is a numbers game, the more people you can be put in touch with the more possibilities. It doesn't matter how many sponsors, it is generating the amount you need. If there are ProAms in the region you are playing in make yourself available,then do whatever you can to make it a memorable experience. After the event get the names and contact information of your amateur partners, immediately follow up with a thank you the old fashion way with a hand written letter. Keep in touch with those people, it may not bear fruit immediately but it is a long term career.

Use the net, search for smaller up and coming companies(not just golf companies) who are looking for exposure just like you. Sell yourself, you are a product so create information about yourself that is always ready to present.

I wish there was a hard and fast way but there isn't, be creative and don't go to the same wells as everyone else.
