Choosing the Right Golf Clubs for Beginners: Standard vs. Petite

Hi, I'm 5'3" tall and very slim. I'm not athletic at all. I'm a beginner in golf. Should I buy lady standard or lady petite? Thanks

Good Morning Bogie,

I am not familiar with Ladie Petit Golf Clubs so I do not know how much shorter they are than standard.  If it is only an inch or so,  that might work out,  I would not go any shorter or you will have a harder time getting distance.  You may after learning for a year want to move up to the ladies standard.  I would suggest this:

go to a driving range and try out a 7 iron and a 5 wood or hybrid from each set,  you may even have a friend that has one or the other,  if you can hit them both about the same distance, and the standard does not feel too heavy, I am leaning toward the standard.  And you can always choke up on the clubs an inch or more until you become more comfortable too, then work your way back out to the end of the grip.  I always lean toward this answer because I do not like to see distance sacrificed by having too short of clubs.
