Golf League & Funds: Legal Implications of Course Renovations

Is it legal for a golf league to hold money from the members over a year while renovations are being done to the course?  Monies from 50/50, tournaments and memberships.

Sorry for the delay..I was on a long needed vacation. When I first read this question, my initial thoughts were, "I know I'd want my money back while the course is being renovated." Honestly though, this matter is best consulted with a legal counsel/respresentative. Without knowing all the particulars at your club, this is just a thought from the "business" side of my PGA experience that came to mind....perhaps the monies contributed can be credited to the member's account for proshop credit. A win-win for the proshop ($$$), and the member's alike (ho-ho-ho..holiday time). Good Luck!!
