Question
can i go skiing with a brused/not really fracturef toe???

even if this isnt in your catagory, please answer!!!

Answer
Hi Lola,

It's tough to know if "not really fractured" means not fractured, or only lightly fractured. If you really have a fracture, then I'd ask you to hold off until a doctor says OK.

If it's bruised, then skiing is not a problem, so long as the following factors are considered:

First, you need to be a "front seat skier". If you tend to sit back, you'll just further the damage to your toe, and who wants that.

Second, you've got to stay away from jumps and the terrain park. If you jump, the potential to jam your toes increases, and your bruised toe will just get worse.

Finally, a bruised toe may not provide sufficient feedback if it's cold (really cold), so you won't be as aware of the risk of frostbite. I don't think that's an issue this time of year, but you never know.

I never asked if the bruising occurred from skiing (which could indicate a balance issue or a poorly fitting boot). If it did, you'll need to address the "why" before subjecting your toe to more of the same. Good Luck!
