board

Question
i am starting snowboarding again this year for the first time in about 3 years and was wondering a few things.

1. i am a little shy of 6' and a half inch tall and 155 pounds and ride at a snowpark that doesnt have a huge train park but i still enjoy doing tricks and such. what size  board should i get and a friend told me to get a forum board should i get that or something else?

2. What is a web site that i can find cheap gloves goggles coats pants ect.

3. what kinds of boots/bindings should i get and how can i order what size boots i need acording to shoe size? or do i need to go in and try some one

thank you for your help

Answer
Kurt,

You want a board that goes to about your chin, a little shorter if you're doing only rails.  But for your height and weight you are gonna want something pretty soft flex otherwise it'll be a  bitch to move it around.  Forum makes decent boards, they are owned by Burton and they make good stuff for the most part.  Other good brands are Academy, Option, Ride(only high end though).

most websites are good, just google snowboard gear and compare prices.  I wouldn't buy boots, board or bindings online because it's best just to go to a shop and make sure everything is going to work together with your size and get it all dialed in just right.  Definitely don't buy boots online!  Try on a lot of brands first before you buy also.  Burton, Salamon, and 32 boots are all good.  Don't skimp on the boots.

enjoy,

Ben
