Practice

Question
Greg, I was wondering if you could help me understand how to effectively bridge the gap between learning a technique in practice and employing that technique in competition.  Are there specific steps that you use when drilling and do you employ progressive resistance in drilling?

Answer
That is exactly what you do. You first have your partner not resist at all and you go through the steps of the move step by step. Then once you can do it easily, you just have your partner keep increasing resistance and then when you are comfortable with it, try to do it when you are live wrestling. That's basically the best way to do it.
