How to Buy Snow Ski Equipment – Tips for the Beginner

2016/7/23 11:55:53

Before you decide to go to an excellent ski resort you would need to buy some snow ski equipment for the trip. Or should you rent it? How do you decide which one of the options is better? Your decision would depend on a few critical factors which are briefly described here so you could understand what would be needed.

The Best Way to Get Your Snow Ski Equipment

When you read here 'the best' it is meant for yourself; not for your friends, not for your relatives – but for yourself. The best snow ski equipment would be that is comfortable, affordable and durable. This is not much to expect from something you might up paying a few thousands of dollars for.

Since you are a beginner you might consider renting your snow ski equipment initially so you could learn all the required tricks on already broken in (read comfortably loosened) equipment rather than using the stiff new ones. Renting has many advantages – you would be able to get the hang of it without damaging your new equipment; you would be able to use equipment which is already set, and the cost of the renting would be less than one third of the price of a new set.

Let us say that you agree to rent the equipment. How do you do that? How do you rent snow ski equipment? How do you ensure that you get one set as soon as you reach your ski resort? You need to speak with your hotel or cabin and ask them to book one for you. In order to be assured of one, make sure you send them advance money for the booking.

It is possible that you might not be able to rent the equipment through the hotel and in these cases, the renting is done directly at the mountain or other places so mentioned. You need to make a beeline to wherever the queue is there and look for your size equipment. Allow yourself a one hour or so for this purpose.

It is good if you arrive at least half a day earlier when you are planning to rent the snow ski equipment at the spot. Alternatively, you could rent this equipment in your home town, but in this case you would have to carry everything on your back wherever you go - and be warned that this equipment is not light to carry in any sense of the word!
