Ski Boot Storage for the Next Season

2016/7/23 11:55:55

Although your ski boots are made to put up with a lot of abuse, they will not really last long if you do not store them carefully after the skiing season. If you want your ski boots to stay in good shape, you need to find a good ski boot storage place in the house. You don't really need a big space to serve as your ski boot storage. All you need is a dry and safe place to store your ski boots and other skiing gadgets at the end of the skiing season.

Storing Your Ski and Your Ski Boots

Before you put your equipments away at the end of the skiing season, make sure that all your equipment is dry. You may use a towel to wipe off the base of your ski. Check the ski properly for any trapped water in its biding recesses. Trapped water can damage your skis so make sure that your skis are completely dry before you put them away.

As for your ski boots, you will need to clean your boots thoroughly first before you store it. Moreover, you will to need to remove the soft liners of your of boots from their hard plastic shells and dry them before you put your boots in the ski boot storage. Note that wet boots tend to smell really bad if you put them in closed compartments such as the ski boot storage so make sure that your boots are completely dry before you put them away.

If you own more than one pair of ski boots, make sure that you put each of them together completely before you put them inside the ski boot storage. Make sure that the tongue of the boot is completely inside the boot and not jammed in between the shell and the liner to avoid distorting the form of your ski boot. To keep the boots in their proper form you may insert a shoe tree inside the boot before buckling it loosely. You can also buy some shoe trees from your local shoe store.

After cleaning up your ski boots and making sure that they are dry, do not just heap your pairs of ski boots into the closet or ski boot storage. To protect your ski boots from damage, wrap your ski boots in protective plastic and them individually on the shelves of your ski boot storage.
