Reindeer In Lapland

2016/7/23 15:03:51

The reindeer in Lapland roam happily free among the forests and open landscapes of Lapland. In Summer they typically roam further afield, in the Winter months at Lapland they will stay closer to home. If you are lucky enough to visit Lapland in the summer months, there is no shortage of these beautiful creatures. They quite nochantly venture across the roads regardless if there is traffic or not. They feed on the grasslands and forests of Lapland in the summer and in the Winter they will feed on Lichens and Reindeer Moss. In the winter months there is no better sight whilst sitting in one of Lapland’s beautiful log cabins, fire roaring than a group of foraging Reindeer wondering contentedly past the window. A group of Reindeer in Lapland will normally consist of about ten reindeer, normally the females and males will stick to separate groups and because the female Reindeer and male reindeer have antlers it can be difficult to tell them apart.

In the Winter months the Reindeer of Lapland will change to suit their environment. The pads on their feet will shrink back to allow their hoof to cut through the snow with greater ease. Of course the Reindeer in Lapland don’t all roam free. The Reindeer sled rides in lapland are a must whilst on holiday in Lapland, no Lapland experience is complete without going on a magical journey around the magical frozen lake wrapped in warm blankets and there is of course the Famous Reindeer in Lapland that pull Santa’s sled.
