Dummy Launches & Rock Band Fun During Griz Day (26-feb-10)

A highlight of Fernie's winter Griz Days festival is the Dummy Downhill Competition that will enter into its 27th year at Fernie Alpine Resort on Sunday March 7th. Strictly for fun, this competition features imaginative & hilarious dummies on skis, launching off a gigantic jump beside the Timber Chair. Dummies can be made from a variety of materials and creativity is stressed! Dummies are judged based on their construction, creativity, distance they fly off the jump, and the carnage factor when they land. Spectators and families LOVE this event and it is one not to miss! 12pm: Dummy check-in and weigh-in at bottom of the Timber Chair
1pm: Derby Start
4pm: Awards ceremony at the Daylodge

A new addition this year to the Griz Days festive fun at Fernie Alpine Resort is the Monster Energy Rock Band event, taking place on Saturday March 6th. Get ready for Monster Fun at Fernie Alpine Resort with musical festivities & lots of entertainment for everyone. Enjoy DJ Maccabi spinning in the plaza from 1-4pm while fun games and contests take place throughout the afternoon. For the evening, crank it up with Monster Energy in the famous Griz Bar where the Ultimate Rockies' Rock Band contest will take place followed by live music from the Surf Dragons! Take the challenge and bring your Rock Band team to battle it out for the Ultimate Rockies' Rock Band title! Win great prizes and have a rockin' time at the Monster Energy Rock Band event.
