Pier landing nets

Question
Richard

Could you give me the name of a outlet or manufacturer where I could purchase a drop net used to land fish hooked from a bridge or pier?

Answer
Hi Jim;
    Sorry, but I do not know of any such product.  However, I have seen excellent results obtained from rigging a basketball hoop with a landing net with a weight on the bottom, and suspended by a rope tied off equally spaced to three or four sides, sort of crab trap style.  I hope you can find what you are seeking, but if not, you may want to experiment with your own version of the basketball hoop landing net concept.  It is the weight and rigidity of the basketball hoop that makes the rig work, especially if there is a current moving under the pier or bridge.
