TIP! While you may count on Mother Nature to have plenty of wood to stoke your campfire, you may encounter only wet wood that won’t burn. Therefore, take some wood with you on your camping trip and store it in a location where it can remain dry.

Make sure to find your shelter before it gets dark. You do not want to be stuck trying to put your tent together or finding a safe location for the tent when it’s pitch black outside. It can be even more difficult for those who are not accustomed to trying to see in complete darkness. Avoid this by setting up your shelter ahead of time.

TIP! Pack additional clothes when going camping. Camping can be a sloppy time.

Though you may believe that there will be sufficient wood lying around for your fire, you may only be able to find wet lumber that does not easily burn. Therefore, take some wood with you on your camping trip and store it in a location where it can remain dry.

TIP! Camping and swimming are a great combination. When camping, you might find yourself missing your shower.

Combine your camping trip with some swimming. A hot shower can be sorely missed. Spending some time in cool water can help you stay clean and refresh your spirits, so a little swimming can soothe the part of your heart longing for a bath.

Oranges are not only a healthy snack to take on a camping trip, but they are also versatile when used as a mosquito repellent. After you’ve eaten the flesh of the fruit, save all the peels. When you need bug repellant, rub the peels on your skin to repel mosquitos naturally and on the cheap!

TIP! Make sure that you bring all of your camping equipment with you before you head out on your trip. You definitely don’t want to leave something essential behind, such as your sleeping bag or tent.

Whenever you go camping, it’s important to remember to bring all of the items you will need when you arrive at your destination. Even just a handful of things missing can really affect your camping experience. Write a list of all the items you need and make sure to cross them off of the list once you pack them. Don’t forget to include your sleeping bag, water, knives, prepared food, hand gel, soap, and your tent.

TIP! If you are new to camping, you should camp near your home. You could run into problems with your gear, or decide to cut the trip short.

When you’re prepared, it’s a lot more fun to go out and spend time on a camping trip. You will feel safer, secure, and more relaxed when you use these camping tips.
