2016/7/26 14:51:10

At what point do you decide that you need a new camping table? Do you wait until your existing table is practically at the point of collapse? This doesn't really seem like a sensible approach. You certainly don't want it to collapse while you're in the middle of eating a hot meal.

Yet it is undoubtedly the case that few of us like spending money needlessly. If we have a perfectly good piece of camping equipment, then we do wonder whether it really does need replacing. The solidity of the table may not be the only factor when you come to consider the timing of buying a replacement.

As with many other pieces of camping kit, there have been some impressive developments in recent years. Manufacturers have been looking at the needs of consumers and trying to meet them. Retailers, on the other hand, have noted the importance of trying to keep prices low. They realise that many of us are looking for a bargain.

Luckily, many of these developments have coincided with the rise of Internet retailing. What does this mean that consumers? The good news is that it largely signifies that we are now able to select from a greater range of tables. They are often of a high quality and prices are affordable.

Plenty of people decide to purchase a new table when they realise that their existing piece of equipment simply takes up too much room in the car. This can really become a problem. Many of us seem to have an enormous amount of equipment to pack whenever we go on a camping trip. If our table does not fold down to a small enough size, then it certainly can take up a lot of room.

Many new tables are much more compact, ensuring that they take up less space. It's also possible to buy products that are made from more lightweight materials. This can certainly be helpful once you arrive at the campsite. In short, manufacturers have clearly been aiming to produce more mobile camping tables.

So what should the driving force be when we come to look at a new table? For some of us, this decision will be taken when we decide that our existing table is simply too old and unstable. For others, it will be all about trying to save space and finding lighter alternatives.
