Anyone looking for caravan for sale will of course want to get the best deal in terms of features and price. Although there are a wide variety of choices in the market; deals and packages differ depending on the season one is in. The immediate question that will strike anybody on reading this is then what is the correct season?

This again is based on two things. If one is buying from a dealership then deals will be different when compared to private sellers.

Buying from Dealerships

A lot of caravan dealers have their shipments delivered to them in the beginning of spring. This is to meet the demands of the caravanning season ahead when almost everyone gets some weeks off from work. Hence, this will be a great time to buy form dealers as they will have stock clearance sales going on too. A lot of great bargains can be made in this period.

Now, if one's requirement is not for a new van but a used one; then it is better to wait for the summer to end. By this time dealers have a good stock of trade in vans that were exchanged for new ones during spring by the customers. Hence the best season will depend on whether one wants to buy a new or a used caravan for sale. A little bit of patience will result in buyers getting a lot of varieties in used caravans.

If one were to by a new one along with a used one; then needless to say; buyers have an upper hand in price negotiations. This is for the simple reason that sellers will be ready to give more flexibility for the chance of selling another new van.

Private Sellers

A large number of people prefer buying from private sellers. The best season to approach these sellers is around winter and mid autumn. Winter obviously will be the end of caravanning. By this end of season many first buyers of caravans might have ended up realizing that this is not what they like to do gain the following year. Hence the only option left for them is to put up their caravan for sale.

A number of caravan owners might also with for a better model for the next season and will want to sell it immediately so that they do not have to bother with taking care of it during the off season of caravanning.

Then there is another set of van owners who might feel that maintenances of their present make is too expensive or that it is too big for them and might want to purchase a smaller or downsized model. Such people would also like to get rid of their mobile van sooner than later.
