Selecting From A Wide Variety Of Camping Tents

Selecting from a wide variety of camping tents is easier than ever these days, mainly thanks to the reach and scope of the Internet. Indeed, it's given a shopper the ability to select from a tent that could hold its own in the most extreme weather conditions or from a tent that's more suitable for use by the kids during a backyard camp-out experience.

For the most part, a camping tent is usually categorized by how many people it can contain within itself. Some tents are made just for one person while there are a number of other tents that can hold a relatively large number of people quite easily. Some may even have two or more rooms and can accommodate seven or eight people in relative comfort.

These days, the camping experience isn't like what one once went through just a couple of decades ago. Tents today are made from lighter and more durable materials that manufacturers use to make spacious and attractive enclosures. They're also easier to erect and pack up and carry around. A casual look at a two-room tent will reveal the fact of this, by the way.

All smart hikers and camping fans usually make sure that they have at least a small, high-quality tent in the backpack should they be caught out on the trail and in a sudden shift of the weather. Solo or two-person enclosures today are built to be light in weight and very durable. One can climb into one after a long day of hiking or whenever the weather looks to become threatening, as well.

What might be most surprising about today's typical tent is that it is very low in cost, relatively speaking. In fact, a nice, quality tent of durable construction that can hold up to three people can be had for under $100. It will have two doors to ensure adequate ventilation and it will stand up very well to gusty weather and even extreme weather conditions such as snow or rain.

From there, prices for many of these three-person tents can climb up past $250 for a version that can be erected very easily and in just a few minutes time while also being extremely durable. A one-person tent, which is so light that a hiker probably wouldn't even notice he or she was carrying it around, can be had for under $70. This is a good example of a tent that's purpose-built, by the way.

It's the case today that most modern camping tents have pretty much nothing to do with their counterparts from just a decade or so ago. Nowadays, they come in colors, styles, sizes and shapes that would be quite surprising to a camper of a generation ago, as a matter of fact. Today's tents are extremely lightweight, durable and easier to carry around than ever. Some even feature two or more rooms, which is quite impressive.
