The serial number is usually stamped on the bottom bracket shell of the bike, near the crank.
Once you have found the serial number, you can use the following chart to determine the year of your bike:
* Serial number starting with "GF" followed by 6 or 7 digits: 1991-1995
* Serial number starting with "G9" followed by 6 digits: 1996-1999
* Serial number starting with "G0" followed by 7 digits: 2000-2004
* Serial number starting with "K1" followed by 7 digits: 2005-2008
* Serial number starting with "K2" followed by 7 digits: 2009-2012
If your serial number does not match any of the formats above, it may be a custom bike or a bike from a different year.
In this case, you may need to contact Trek, the parent company of Gary Fisher, for more information.
