Carp Rods: Ideal For Carp Fishing

2016/7/16 16:32:29

Carp rods need to be long. Because it is ideal to cast them for great distance, extra leverage is important. The length of the rod will help the distance of the cast.

A carp rod needs to be composed of sturdy material; graphite is the best. Carp are fighting fish. They are known to put up one of the hardest wrestles and they do not give up until there is no more water for them to swim in. They will break your rod if your rod will let them.

Putting together the correct fishing rig is the key to catching that big carp, and getting it in the boat. If you do not have your rig tied correctly, you are wasting your time and chances are you will not catch fish. If your rigging is not correct it will come loose when the carp goes to suck the lure into it's mouth. Make sure that you have a good knot tied when your preparing your rigging.

Another thing that you need to understand is that the carp needs to hook itself. In order for the carp to hook itself, you will need to have placed the hook on the line properly. The goal is to let the bait do the work, just let it sit in front and all should be well. Carp are considered to be intelligent fish, if they see the shine of the hook they will not take the bait. I know that may sound a little crazy but it is a fact.

Once you have everything you need such as a rod with the correct length, made from the right material for reeling in the fish you will need to know the correct steps for starting the process. I am going to assume that you already know where to catch the carp, but I am willing to bet that you didn't know that you can speed up the process by chumming the lake. That is one way to guarantee a feeding frenzy.

Once you have chummed, throw the rig into the water and wait. A feeding frenzy should benefit you in two ways: a quick bite and hook and a disguise. This way if you have not fully hidden your hook the amount of food and the rapid feeding happening below should cover your tracks. Be ready to fight.
