Catching Crappie In Clear Lake

The winter months are the best for catching crappie in Clear Lake. The best place to fish for winter crappie is by the bottom along the shelf in some of the areas around Clear Lake.

The best way to catch the crappie is with a jig on a drop-shotting rod. The small live minnows are not easy for the fish to turn away from when they are hungry. It becomes very easy to fish for crappie during the winter months.

If you do not have any small minnows, try filleting the minnows and using these for crappie fishing. You will have strikes with both live minnows and filleted minnows to make them small enough for the crappie.
