Shakespeare Fishing Poles-how to Make Sure You Are Ready

Assembling Shakespeare fishing poles

Manufacturers of fishing poles such as Shakespeare make their fishing poles in sections. This allows for easy transportation rather than having to move around with a seven foot (7ft) Shakespeare Fishing Pole.  The attachable parts ranging from the tip to the handle may come in two, three or four sections which are fitted into each other. The section where the attachable parts are joined is known as the ferrule. The length of the fishing pole will have an impact on how the casting accuracy is achieved. Below are the instructions for putting the rod together.

Retrieve your Shakespeare fishing pole pieces (sections) from their case and assemble them according to size. For example the handle is the larger pieces while the tip is the smaller pieces.

Take the middle section of the rod; insert the ferrule found on the end of it into the hole which can be seen on the handle section then turn both pieces until the metal rod guides found on each section are aligned.

Ensure both sections are firmly fastened. Do not over fasten as this will make disassembling a challenge.

Now pay attention to the opposite end of the rod section. Here you will attach the rod section to the middle section by placing the ferrule on the rod section into the hole on the middle section. Align the rod guides seen on the tip section with the rod guides on the previously aligned sections (the middle section and the handle section) then push sections together. Sections should be able to turn independently of each other.

Threading the lining in the Shakespeare fishing poles.

Shakespeare Fishing poles are known to give a bit of challenge when it comes to putting on a new line. If you get it wrong you can literally spend a long time doing it over and over again before you get it right. If you are to be successful you must take extra care in following the rules. It is said that knowledge is key and it is no less true here. It’s best to equip yourself with the know-how of putting on a new line on Shakespeare Fishing Poles. Here are the general rules to follow:

Ensure that all the eyes on your fishing pole are as they should be. A failure to do this may result in the line bursting causing further delays or just plainly frustrating you.

Check your reel and ensure that it is clean by cutting away any old unwanted strings. It is a good idea to give it a total over-haul by taking it apart and removing all the strings.

Thread the string through each eye starting at the very tip of the pole.

Ensure you threaded properly then attach the string to your reel.

Slowly, reel the line until the spool is full, ensuring at all times that there is enough tension on the line to prevent it from tangling or being wrapped on too loosely.

Now you are ready to enjoy some fishing with your new Shakespeare Fishing Poles or to simply get down to business. After many good fishing trips, rod sections can become stuck to one another but can be disconnected easily by applying a drop of reel oil or another lubricant to the ferrule point and twisting gently to separate.

Hope this article helped to get that new Shakespeare Ugly Stik ready, and even better, get you out on the water where you belong faster.
