The short video below shows a very in-depth test pitting a Trigger X Minnow (owned by the Rapala folks) against a Berkley Gulp! Alive minnow in a walleye tank. According the researcher, every precaution is taken to ensure the fish do not become trained to hit one bait over the other. Now I've been very successful on the water with both brands, so I'm not showing you this to say one is better than the other. I'm more interested in whether you feel such tank research may sway you to try new baits. The results of this video are no doubt impressive, but do you think tank test data accurately translates into real-world data? If you were a devout Gulp! user, would this change your mind?
