A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to follow Nate Matthews, Field & Stream's Online Editor, and his father down the length of the Rio Grande from start to finish - all the way from the headwaters in Colorado to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas.
I was the official trip photographer. The adventure lasted 16 days and we fished and caught everything from trout to sharks. Nate and his dad road motorcycles the entire way while I drove a Toyota 4-Runner loaded down with tents, boats, fishing and camera gear.
Over the next couple weeks we'll be chronicling the trip with daily entries, slide shows and complied video entires shot during the time on the road. A print version of the story will be published in the June 2011 issue of Field & Stream. Please enjoy the ride.
