Destination Spain: My View

2016/7/18 11:28:04

It is always interesting to watch new shows especially when you are dealing with nature. There are factors that you cannot control or predict what the outcome will be just as in Destination Spain where you start off on a journey where the producer tries to pull you into a trout fishing adventure to the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain minus one co-host and missing luggage. If you don’t know, these mountains act as a natural boarder between France and Spain. I have never been to the Pyrenees, but I have visited the Spanish Mediterranean coastal city of Malaga and the Island of Palma. The momentary glimpses of narrow roads and vast vineyards as a backdrop brought back memories of topless beaches and techno club soap sud parties. Not sure if Hemingway would recall these attributes of Spain but yeah it is a great country. Culturally speaking, the country is also filled with historically significant sites and amazing architecture which the show poorly integrates with brief background shots of the monastery and gardens. I know the show is about fishing but I personally could have done with less of the guys sitting in an airport and train station and the short recaps in exchange for some more great panoramic view of Spain’s flora, fauna and architecture. For me the show seems to be a  bit jumpy and not enough smooth transitions. I do like the the storyline of an epic adventure to explore and fish:) and I do plan to watch a few more episodes to see how it goes.
