Being a fly fisherman means I like to play around with things, not accepting things as being complete.

Up until this time one of my favorite flies for steeelhead had been the egg sucking leech.  This fly (egg sucker) is really just a spin off of the famous Woolley Bugger.  Having far to much time on my hands I decided to try and come up with a more effective version.  One which would be effective during sunny periods as well as cloudy or overcast days and yet still maintained the profile of a leech so that it could be effective at night.

Thats why we call them steelies.
