Mizuno Irons: MP 53

2016/7/19 15:29:36

I am a beginner golfer and purchased the Mizuno MP 53 Irons as my first upgrade. I found the club to be very forgiving.

It features an innovative Diamond Muscle design and a precision-milled, V-shaped pocket cavity. The modified U-grooves produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability. The Mizuno MP-53 golf iron offers the perfect optical illusion for golfers, offering extreme forgiveness in a compact clubhead that would not look out of place in a tour bag.

Building on the legacy of Mizuno's hugely popular MP series of irons the Grain Flow Forged MP-53 has a head size and profile that appeal to the most skilled shot maker but uses a Diamond Muscle design combined with a Milled Pocket Cavity to offer a surprising level of stability on even off centre hits.

Mizuno have also worked hard on the sound feedback and this is very good as always. The MP-53 lofts are the same as the MP-52 in the 3-5 irons and one degree stronger from 6-iron to PW. The grooves on the face conform to the 2010 condition of competition regulations.

The head size to be similar to the JPX-800 Pro iron but the thinner top line and reduced offset looked much better with the MP-53 iron. The Mizuno MP-53 Irons offer more forgiveness from a compact head and we would have to agree.

The trajectory was good and a bit lower than the JPX-800 Pro and the workability was better too so we think this is an ideal set for low to medium single figure golfers who want looks, performance and forgiveness.

"I told him how proud I was,'' Pat said. "I told him putt on 17 key. I said, 'You know, Keegs, at this moment, your life is going to change, but don't you change.' He said 'I won't. I promise.' ''

Pat needed a little more time to get into the winner's circle. She joined the LPGA Tour in 1974 and her first win -- not to mention six runner-up finishes -- came in 1976. "It took me a little bit longer, but Keegan has been wanting this for a very long time,'' she said. "It's been his dream to be a PGA TOUR player and walk alongside discount golf equipment and Freddie Couples.''

Pat watched her nephew play junior golf. She watched him take on his favorite course -- Bethpage Black -- in college and was downright impressed. She watched him win on the Hooters Tour and display a consistency.

Now this. And, it doesn't take her long to remind you about next April, either.

She's already told Keegan to rent the biggest house he can find in Augusta because the whole clan will be there to watch him play in his first Masters. It'll be her first time to see the course, too.
